Health & Safety
YGS Landscapes recognises the importance of our staff being employed in a capacity to carry out the work required without their safety being at risk. We therefore have in place robust procedures and documents which are supported by our staff training programme.
All staff complete an induction before starting work on any site. All work operations have a detailed method statement written for them which are supported by specific risk assessments for all the activities carried out within the method statement.
All procedures and risk assessments are reviewed regularly.
All new staff have to complete an in-house induction programme and are trained and assessed on all machinery before being allowed to use it.
All staff are provided with PPE for the work they are undertaking and are shown how to use and maintain it correctly.
We provide COSHH assessments and safety data sheets to all staff as part of the site induction for all chemicals and materials that they may come into contact with as part of the task they are carrying out. These are reviewed annually alongside our risk assessments.
We have been a fully registered BALI member since 1981.
We have had SSIP health & safety accreditation since 2011, through CHAS & SMAS and CQMS quality management accreditation since 2014.
We carry out external audits of our Health & Safety on an annual basis We ensure all our staff are CSCS approved.
We have staff members that are IOSH, SMSTS & SSSTS qualified.
